Week 14: Minnesota Vikings

December 11th, 2011

Are the 2-10 Vikings just what the Lion’s need to get out of there 2 game slump? Yes, but this game will be a lot closer than the experts would predict, only because this a division game and the Vikings are always up to beat the Lion’s and have made quite a career doing it, they lead the overall series by 20+ games.

The good part is the that Minnesota is starting rookie Christian Ponder at QB, their secondary is in shambles,  and basically this team just isn’t very good. The bad news is the Lions are playing to keep their playoffs hope alive and the Vikings are playing for pride, which is a dangerous combination especially when your the Detroit Lion’s.

The Lion’s will once again be without the services of Suh, but now it looks like neither Kevin Smith, Nick Fairly or Chris Houston will be suiting up for Sunday. The Lion’s are limping but should be able to right the ship against the Vikings . . . here’s hoping.

Week 13: New Orleans Saints

December 2nd, 2011

Granted the Lions looked bad against the Packer’s on Turkey Day, but when you have 11 penalties, commit stupid mistakes and have your star player on your defensive line kicked out for being stupid then you deserve to lose tho the Packer’s.

Unfortunately for the Lions they go from playing the best team in football last week to playing the second best team this week. Yes, the Saints are once again proving that they deserve to be mentioned as a possible team to play in the Super Bowl and the Lion’s are just another path to cross before they get there.

The Saints have the NFL’s best offense which spells a long evening for the Lion’s and without Suh, and possibly Kevin Jones meaning the Lion’s will have a tough day against Drew Bree’s and Company. The Lion’s are an up and coming team but hey still can’t compete with the NFL’s big  boys.
