Week 14: Oakland Raiders

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Last week the Lions needed an act of God to pull out a win against the hapless Minnesota Vikings a team that at one point they had down 31-14. Thankfully for them a missed face-mask on DeAndre Levy preserved a Lion’s victory and possibly saved a season.  The Lions played amazing for the first two quarters two bad there are  four quarters to a game as they disappeared in the second half.  But is doesn;t matter because the Lion’s won and are now 8-5 going into Oakland.

The Oakland Raiders are well the Oakland Raiders and the Lion’s have a great opportunity to win this game and move  one step closer to their first playoff spot  in 12 years.  This game has a lot riding on it and I think the Lion’s will travel four time zones and pull out victory.  The Lion’s have played amazing on the road this year they have a better road record (5-3) than home (4-3) record so I think the Lion’s will be up for the challenge and go into the infamous “Black Hole” and come out victorious.

Week 14: Minnesota Vikings

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Are the 2-10 Vikings just what the Lion’s need to get out of there 2 game slump? Yes, but this game will be a lot closer than the experts would predict, only because this a division game and the Vikings are always up to beat the Lion’s and have made quite a career doing it, they lead the overall series by 20+ games.

The good part is the that Minnesota is starting rookie Christian Ponder at QB, their secondary is in shambles,  and basically this team just isn’t very good. The bad news is the Lions are playing to keep their playoffs hope alive and the Vikings are playing for pride, which is a dangerous combination especially when your the Detroit Lion’s.

The Lion’s will once again be without the services of Suh, but now it looks like neither Kevin Smith, Nick Fairly or Chris Houston will be suiting up for Sunday. The Lion’s are limping but should be able to right the ship against the Vikings . . . here’s hoping.
