Week 16: Green Bay Packers

December 31st, 2011

1991 was the last time the Lion’s went into the state of Wisconsin an came out with a win, is this the year that the Lion’s break the 20 year streak?

I am going to stay No, and here is why. The Lion’s struggle in Green Bay I don’t know what it is but that stadium is just bad news for the Lion’s. Last year the Lion’s lost by 2 as they were unable to hold the Packer’s from getting a first down in the final moments of the fourth quarter and walked away with a heartbreaking loss to the Cheeseheads. In 2005 the Lion’s lost 16-13 in OT on a Ryan Longwell’s field goal a game in which the Lion’s led a13-0 at one time. Even when they are picked to beat the Packer’s they find a way to lose, why should this year be an different?

I would love the Lion’s to beat the Packer’s in Green Bay but I don’t see it even if the Pack rests half their team. The Packer’s get up to play the Lion’s and the Lion’s trip over their own feet once again and lose once more to Green Bay. Until Aaron Rodgers retires I don’t the Lion’s will be winning in Wisconsin for another 10 years.

Roar Restored!

December 27th, 2011

An apology to my beloved Detroit Lion’s and my belief that they would lose to the San Diego Charger’s on Christmas Eve.

My pessimistic attitude towards the Lion’s  has come from over 26 years of heartbreak at the hands of the Detroit football Lion’s, and it appears that old habit’s die hard as I not only picked the Lion’s to lose on Saturday but to lose by at least two touchdowns to the Charger’s.

Boy, was I wrong as the Lion’s and not only won the game on Christmas Eve they completely dominated the Charger’s from start to finish and earned their first playoff spot in 12 years.

It’s been so hard for me to not expect the other shoe to drop and the same ‘ol Lions to rear their ugly heads this season, but again and again the Lion’s have shut-up their critic’s and even some of their fans (myself included) and simply put, Won. Good Teams know how to win football games, and simply put the Lion’s are not a only good team but can become a great team!

The Lion’s are winners, yes the Detroit Lion’s are a great football team and the future looks nothing but bright for our beloved Leo’s. I now know  and even believe that for the first time in a long time that the “Roar is Restored” in Detroit. Go Lions!
